September Collapse
I love how my body knows just when to give out. I have been running like a crazy person since April knowing that September will bring me some time off to relax. In order to force me to be still and stop my madness, my body decided to get sick on me this week. Clever creature.Since Thursday I have been on my back with a sore throat and fever. (I personally love having a fever, especially with the wild fever-induced dreams. I spent the night churning goat's milk into Darth Vadar-shaped butter paddies that I then hand-fed to raccoons.) The past two days, I was so ill, I didn't even go on-line. Rather I sat and read like they used to do in the old days. (Also, a fever gives me that glazed-over ruddy look of a crazed mystic that some say suits me.)
I should really be back in Hartford, but with feeling ill and the weather being so fine in the mountains where my dad lives, and it being the week of my mom's passing, I decided to hang out here a little longer.
Guess I will make the journey tomorrow. I should be back in Hartford? I forget my mother's wise words, "Don't should on yourself! (say it out loud with a husky NY accent for the full effect).

I was poorly a few weeks ago with a viras with a nice hefty temperature. I was still planning to go into work the next day when I woke myself up at 4am because my teeth started chattering. Very weird!!! Hope you feel better soon poppet!!
Oh Peterson, I can so relate. I've had the most bizarre virus for almost two weeks. Sinus weirdness, a sore throat, and even a rash that looks like one of my kids left little red thumb-prints all over me! I'm hoping to get some nice antibiotics from the doctor tomorrow...
Heal well, okay?
Aww, Peterson.
*hugs* (But not too close so that I end up catching whatever virus you have currently -- can't be catching a cold during only the second week of school, now can I?)
Feel better. I'll talk to you soon, I hope, yeah?
Get well soon! Enjoy the relaxation.
Sorry to here that you're not well but I really do agree with your yerms, it's time you relax. And I love your mom. Don't should on yourself. I must translate it and use it on a daily basis. Love /anna hp
Take care of yourself -- relax, refresh, recharge.
Glad you had a productive few months leading up to this, though. Sounds like you really hit it out of the park at GB.
Get well soon Peterson. September has always been my month for relaxing and reflecting too...but for a different reason. And if I'm not careful I'll stray too close to melancholy. It's a good time of the year for it, what with autumn coming.
Love your mom's saying!
If you choose to be sick that is your choice but don't force that lifestyle onto us. Keep it to your self.
If were to stay in bed for a couple of days I would choose completely different reasons. But that just is me. I'm not judging anyone. We are all adults and free to make our own decisions.
I have a sick daughter here with her head in my lap. She is playing with a little wooden box snake toy thingie a nice uncle left here this spring.
Get well so you can enjoy the trip home. If you ever get so spoiled that you don't enjoy it just suck it up and do it for me.
Sympathy from Dr Alex. I love it!!! Alex you're not a social worker by any chance are you? ;)
Aww, Alex, I hope your daughter gets well soon!
Auntie Doris: social worker schmokal worker. Any one could do that! Just tell the loosers to straighten up and fly right...
elliot: Now she's sound asleep and seem as calm as can be. She have had pain in the right side of her stomach and I was a bit worried about her appendix for a while and hope that it is something else. I don't like the idea of my little baby and knifes...
I hope it's not something so serious as a problem with her appendix. *pouts*
I hope you're well otherwise, my friend.
Alex you have obviously been a fly on the wall in my recent sessions with my clients ;) You have my technique of therapeutic work down to a tee!!!
Hey, Alex, you been taking lessons from Joe G or something? Talk about tough love.
Feeling less horrible, but have to get healed up soon, I have a TV thing on Thursday. Will give you all details when I have them.
Don't worry Peterson, you can come crying to me for sympathy after the others have given you a dose of tough love ;)
Sometimes I think that when important "anniversaries" come up around our saddest or most difficult times, our bodies will know before our mind will that we need to slow down and pay attention to some hidden needs that still need healing.
On the other hand, sometimes a fever is just a fever. smile
Blessings,
Liz Opp, The Good Raised Up
Alex likes to tease you just like I do (To Alex - hope the little one is feeling better - as in, your daughter and not Peterson).
You probably won't feel completely better until you do another interview, media whore.
Love always,
Joe G.
PS: And I'm a social worker!
Joe G. All the best people are SW's ;)
Auntie D x

"Don't should on yourself"
